    The first Certified Arkansas Farmer’s Market in Argenta will open for business on Saturday, May 3 at 7 a.m. It will be open on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 7 a.m. - 12 p.m.(noon) in the parking lot on Main Street in Argenta (downtown North Little Rock) between 4th and 5th Streets.

    APRIL: Arkansas Twisters

    The Arkansas Twisters football organization is a charter member of the arenafootball2 league that began play in 2000. The season runs April through July, with the playoffs in August that culminate with the championship game, the ArenaCup. The Twisters have thrilled fans since the very first season with the fastest paced scoring in sports along with some of the most dramatic games around. The Twisters hold numerous attendance records, including the overall af2 record of 16,058, twice.

    APRIL: Energy Conservation Information and Assistance Kiosks
    With the increasing cost of electricity, the City of North Little Rock is actively engaged in conserving energy. It is the City’s aim to disseminate information to the citizens of North Little Rock about the many ways to conserve energy at home. Additionally, the city through the Community Development Agency has set aside some funds to assist those citizens who qualify with weatherizing their homes.

    The Energy Conservation Information and Assistance Kiosks will provide ideas and information on energy conservation, home weatherization, as well as information for assistance on energy bills for those who qualify.

    These “information stations” include information from the Electric Department, the State Energy Office, and other reliable energy conservation sources. In terms of utility and weatherization assistance, we have compiled information from the city’s Utilities Accounting Department on the various services they provide, as well as the Central Arkansas Development Council, River City Ministries, and the North Little Rock Community Development Agency.

    The kiosks will be located at six (6) locations around the city:

    The Great North Little Rock Clean-Up is scheduled for Saturday, May 17, 2008. Team Check-in at 8:30a.m. Volunteer Lunch provided at Noon. Trash bags, safety vest and gloves provided.     JULY: 07/04/2008 Pops on the River
    North Shore Riverwalk
    Pops on the River held July 4, 2008 at the North Shore Riverwalk. Come and see the fireworks display on the Arkansas River front and hear the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra along with the David Rosen Orchestra. We will keep you posted when more information is available.
