A written examination and physical ability test to create an eligibility list for

POLICE OFFICER will be given Saturday, April 17, 2010 and Friday, April 23, 2010 Testing time for both dates is 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Food Service Worker I - Parks Recreation - 1019

Hours: PART-TIME SUMMER POSITION - HOURS WILL VARY

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY: • Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older -- age verification required upon hire. • Valid class D driver’s license and a good driving record. *Experience driving a van or trailer is preferred (Those assigned to drive the delivery pick-up trucks with trailer must have a valid Arkansas Class D driver’s license.)

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: • Ability to work well with children. • Ability to maintain personal cleanliness and hygiene. • Knowledge of health standard related to cleanliness of food areas.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES SUMMARY: Serves as a site monitor and/or participates in food preparation and delivery.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: • Ensures each child receives a meal with the appropriate food components. • Performs clean-up duties such as wiping down tables, cleaning coolers, freezers and refrigerator, food preparation area, sweeping, mopping, emptying of garbage and ensuring safety and sanitary conditions at site. • Completes daily logs for accountability of meal distribution, required meals for next day. • Prepares boxes meals with all meal components as set forth by the USDA Food Program for breakfast and lunch.

Lifeguard - Parks and Recreation - 1021

Hours: Part time, hours will vary

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY: • Must be 16 years of age or older; • Must have completed the American Red Cross Lifeguard course and be certified or eligible for certification before date of employment. CPR for the Professional Rescuer is required and must be maintained throughout employment. (SUBMIT CERTIFICATES WITH APPLICATION) If not yet certified, submit receipt for class with application.

SALARY: $7.25/hr -$8.50/hr ($.25 more per hour if certified Water Safety Instructor) HOURS OF WORK: Municipal pools are open 5 days a week. Days & hours vary. POOL LOCATIONS: North Heights & Sherman Park Community Centers Must be willing to work at any pool location

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensures the safety of swimmers in the City pools.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Pool Safety and Operations: monitors pool area activities at all times, taking necessary action to maintain safe conditions and to ensure the safety of pool patrons; uses proper lifesaving techniques as necessary to rescue swimmers in trouble; administers proper first aid techniques as needed; enforces pool rules and regulations to ensure the safety of pool patrons; assists in the cleaning of the shower rooms and pool facilities; assists certified Water Safety Instructor with swimming lessons; performs other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY: • High school diploma or equivalent. • Three (3) years experience as a lifeguard and swimming instructor. • Must have completed and passed the American Red Cross Lifeguard and Water Safety Instructor courses and be certified or be eligible for certification as a WSI before date of employment. CPR for the Professional Rescuer is required and must be maintained throughout employment. Certified Pool Operator Certification preferred. (SUBMIT CERTIFICATES WITH APPLICATION) • An Arkansas Class D driver's license and good driving record.

SALARY: $9.25/hr - $10.50/hr HOURS OF WORK: Municipal pools are open 5 days a week. Days & hours vary. POOL LOCATIONS: Sherman Park, & North Heights Community Centers Must be willing to work at either pool location.

DUTIES INCLUDE: Pool Operation: plans, organizes, and supervises the operations of the pool; supervises the enforcement of pool rules and regulations to ensure the safety of patrons; trains and supervises lifeguards and concession workers; test water and related equipment to conform to operating policies of the Health Department; supervises and assists with the cleaning and filling of the pool; supervises and assists in the backwashing of the filters; requisitions pool supplies and equipment and informs superiors of necessary repairs; performs other related duties as required or as directed by Aquatic Supervisor.

Energy Services Engineer - Electric Department - 1025

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY: • Bachelor’s OR Associate's Degree in Engineering (BSEE or BSME preferred) (copy required with application) and at least three years experience in energy efficiency program operations. Significant program operations experience combined with a degree in business, mathematics, or other technical field may be substituted for the engineering degree. • Valid Arkansas Class D driver's license and good driving record.

OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: • A thorough knowledge of PC based software • Excellent Communication skills.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES SUMMARY: Manages energy efficiency and demand-side management programs for the utility.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: • Manage Customer Energy Efficiency Programs - Assist customers to identify and evaluate energy efficiency cost savings opportunities. Evaluate building energy performance. Document systems, Conduct engineering analysis. Develop energy efficiency measures. Prepare and present technical proposals, analysis, and feasibility reports. Report back to management after completion of the projects. Provide technical support. Work closely with energy services companies to assist customers with their energy conservation measures. • Manage Customer Demand-Side Management Programs - Assist the customers in evaluating their load profile, redistributing their energy demand, and Strategic Load Growth to improve the systems load factor. Develop and implement Demand Response Programs. • Evaluates & Coordinates Internal Programs to Improve Energy Efficiency by the City. - Evaluate performance contracts and make recommendations. Work as a liaison between Performance Contractor and the City. Evaluate additional energy saving opportunities within the City. Assist in developing purchasing guidelines for energy efficient City purchases.
